This thing is really starting to look good and I like the squat, chubby crown shaft. It’s maintained the blue/gray leaf coloration as well.

Thought I’d post an update on this palm, dropped a leaf sheath yesterday and is looking stellar and chunky. Grown quite a bit in four years.

So many threads for this Betakaka/Blue decipiens, I thought I’d add it here instead of creating yet another new one.

You know the old saying that dogs often look like their owners Tim...?¿?

Beautiful Tim. I was never able to get one of those when they were available early on, and now I’m not sure I would have the space to put it. But wow, what a stellar looking palm.

Billy, lucky it’s in the garden, I feel the same way every time I look at it.

Bret, yeah big palm. You’d have to re-do that awesome hardscape you just put in.

Always room for 1 more palm!  And I think floribunda is selling these now that he’s getting seed from his.

Does Hawaii have growth hormones in the soil and rain? The way palms grow in Hawaii is amazing!

@realarch Tim, the Betafaka looks awesome!! That tree has grown leaps and bounds from when I saw it last.  To all that want to see some insane growth rate from Hawaii…..here’s a picture I took of the same palm June 2023 at about the same vantage point followed by Tim’s just posted. That’s only a little over 1.5yrs growth!!!! It seems impossible but is true. Crazy….

Good job Tim. hope all is well  👍🏻
