This Copernicia gigas is really kicking butt . Anyone have pictures of there’s ? This is in riverside California . Was curious also I’ve noticed every Copernicia I’ve planted usually dies back to one leaf looks near death and then the following year looks good and has very little issues after that. This will be the second year in the ground .

Yes, there are a few larger ones out there.  They are slower than fallaensis by a lot.  Maybe in 20 years yours will start trunking?

Formerly in Gilbert AZ, zone 9a/9b. Now in Palmetto, Florida Zone 9b/10a??

I did see this older post. Has anyone seen him lately looks like he hasn’t been on here in a year or so . And yeah I would guess I will Never see it trunking here . Seeing as I’m 35 years old. I have a Bailey that is roughly the same size also looks great. The gigas right now is putting about 2 to 3 leaves a year . Each one being a little bit bigger than the last . Lots of water and lots of sun and heat has made this a successful grow . Probably the healthiest looking plant I have right now . Also one of the rarest I have which is always a plus . It was grown from habitat collected seed @aztropic

I wonder why more growerS in inland Southern California are not growing these . I understand why a lot of coastal areas aren’t . just not enough heat I would think.

Probably lack of patience.  Waiting on an understory palm is one thing but waiting on a sun-loving specimen palm is another.
