Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula

Recommended Posts

I spent a few days down on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica over the past two weeks. I stayed at Bosque del Cabo in Cabo Matapalo. The roads were atrocious to say the least, but that also keeps development to a minimum.

Beautifull photos, thankyou. I've been there 3 times, looks like anything planted there really thrives!           Randy

I think Bosque has over 20 miles of trails or at least close to that, some across rough terrain and through both primary and secondary rainforest. One of the better parts of the trip was that there were almost no bugs! Just 3 mosquito bites & I didn't wear repellent.

Amazing. A friend of mine just got back from there, I'm pretty sure she was in the same area. She loved it. It's such a magical place. Sure makes Orlando look like the arctic!

Nice place Jake.  It looks like a great combination of water and forest.  I hope to get up there one of these days.

I still haven't visited.  Brings to mind an old book, "Rain Forests of Golfo Dulce. By Paul H. Allen. (Gainesville: Uni- versity of Florida Press, 1956)"  Back then, rain forests were pretty mysterious to biologists in the US.
