Hoping someone can provide some insight as to what is going on with my Queen Palm.

I replanted this a couple of years ago and it was healthy.  Since the transplant, it seems to have gone dormant.  I thought it was dying but it has remained the way it appears in the image(s) for the past year.   The frond that's hanging has remained green for a year.

So far, I've tried the following:

1. Miracle Gro Shake n Feed Palm Food

2. Palm Fertilizer

3. Recently dug out the base a bit to expose the upper part of the roots (was told by a Gardner recently).  Could this be the cause?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Nice to meet you!

Where are you? That might matter. Just city and state/province, etc.

As an initial matter, sounds like you're making a reasonable effort, though it also appears that the palm is kind of standing in place.

Hi DoomsDave - Pleasure is mine.  Thanks for the response.  I'm in SoCal.  Los Angeles to be exact.  Not sure what you mean by "standing in place".

Okay, forgive my imprecise on the fly verbiage . . .

Sometimes I've moved palms and had them just sit there, but they don't die.

Where in LA? (Burbank, perhaps?) I'm in La Habra, your gateway to the OC, or Whittier depending on the direction you're headed.

Looking at your plant again, it appears that the trunk is shrinking, which is not good, alas. Push really hard on the parts that are a bit wavy; if it's not rock-solid, it's likely rotting and best to cut and remove and get another one.

Fortunately, queen palms are easily replaced. I'd just get one in a pot and plant it, and it will do much better.

If you're interested, you're welcome to visit my place. I have about 100 kinds of palms.

Is the trunk sunken in a bit in that last photo?

Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

Get rid of it, and buy a better palm.  Queen palms are so 90s. I had to pay to get mine removed.

What do you mean by "sunken"?  Too deep?

Hey DoomsDave - Thanks for the reply.  I did what you suggested and although it's somewhat hard to tell, the trunk did appear to give ever so slightly.  I guess I'll have to replace it, if it is in fact rotted.
