This past Sunday we went to Naples Botanical Garden for our anniversary. I got to see lots of palms and a few were dropping fresh seeds. One of those was a large Roystonea oleracea aka the Caribbean Royal palm - the first of its species I've ever seen in person. I don't believe it is a common palm in FL or elsewhere in the US so I scooped up some of those seeds to clean and share. According to Palmpedia, oleracea is the largest species in the genus, reaching a phenomenal 130' (40m)  tall in habitat.
