I had this for over 17 yrs.  I pulled it out of the ground because it was getting big over a decade ago.

Yes, these are beautiful with those red veins but another one of those potential threats to foundations, water lines, etc..  As the common name identifies, the Mexican rock fig likes to attach itself and crush rocks.  I wish I had a big enough lot sometimes, so that I could find a place where one of these could go in the ground without threatening to do damage to hardscape, water or sewer lines.  Like you, I'll be growing these species in a pot.  That twisted and bulging base on yours is a great look!

The best tree for this bulburous look is bombax ellipticum.  The green turquoise color is so nice.  It also has the turtle shell look.  I really do not want to lop off the trunk because it is too purdy
