Planted this about 20 years ago.  Didn't take good care of it for years and years.  Rats ate the irrigation line right by it's base so it got lots of water and 2 palms and 2 trees down the line got none for a few years.  Surprised those 4 are still alive living on rain water.  Any who I cleaned it up today and ran new irrigation tubing all the way down the line.

Anyone have an idea what this palm is?  I think it's a Copernicia but can't find a tag.  Took a stiff brush and cleaned years of fallen crap from one frond to help ID it.  Anyone care to guess?

I did photo a close up of the leaf base and it's nasty hooks but can't find it on my phone.  Will add that tomorrow.

I was looking at the list of Copernicia species on Palmpedia and that name looked like something I MIGHT have had.  LOL  Mahalo

Here's pics of mine I grew from seed I collected during the IPS sponsored trip to the Dominican Republic, back in 2004. Maybe your plant also has it's origins from that same trip. Several Hawaiian enthusiasts were collecting the seeds from habitat, right along with me!^_^

I have one labeled Bayliana but some of you said it might be berteroana.  So let me get fresh pictures and see what happens.

Again MAHALO for the ID.
