Dypsis decaryi trunk diameter

How big will the base of the trunk of a Dypsis decaryi get?

I have one in my back yard, right now the base of the trunk is 18" in diameter.

It is planted in a round hole surrounded by a six inch thick concrete deck.  That hole is 32" in diameter.

Will it get big enough to crack the concrete one day?

You should be good there.  I haven't seen one with over a 24" trunk.  If anyone else has, let us know.

Once trunk width has established,it almost never varies from it. New roots sprouting from the lower trunk would be the only thing increasing width, and you can always trim those off as they appear.

well there are already two cracks radiating from the hole which I believe is from the palm roots.  I am just worried these cracks will get bigger substantially.

It shouldn't get any wider.
