I don't think I can download or share the video (unless you are on Nextdoor in my city), but someone reported a palm being stolen from the front yard and there is a video of the whole act occurring from their doorbell camera.  Nuts!  Who does that?

Well, to be completely honest with you, I have sometimes had the urge... but I would never act on it. Disgusting!

That's a lot of effort and risk for a Washie. Some kind of vengeance? Or someone forgot to take their meds (or took the wrong ones) lol

Brings back bad memories. I had someone rip out 6 newly planted skyrocket junipers a few years back and got it on camera as well. Long story short, I posted it everywhere and got a tip of where they were and with a police escort got to take them back. They are 10ft tall now and happy to be “home”.

Guard your Washingtonia's people...

Did not think I would have to say that, but a palm is a palm.

I'm surprised someone would risk their life over a very common palm.  I guess Midnight Gardening is addictive.

After waking up one morning I looked out my front door while walking down the stairs and the rows of Marigolds on each side of the front walk were gone. I debated with myself for a moment and decided to call the police "routine calls" line.  I said "I know this sounds kinda weird but someone stole all the flowers along my walkway."   The reply was "See the officer at the West end of Murray St."   Since I lived in the last house on the East end of Murray St. I just took my coffee and went for a walk to the other end of the street.  As I approached the area there were folks hauling all manner of stuff away from that last house.  Turned out a patient had been recently released and went off his meds.  Spent the entire night taking anything he could within about 1/4 mile of the house.  There were picnic tables, swing sets, rolls of sod, thousands of plants both potted and bare root, piles of wood chips and mulch, chairs, lawn ornaments, wheel barrels, badminton nets, tricycles, basketball hoops, etc. etc. etc.  There was soooo much stuff you would not believe one person did it in just one night.  The officer said just take what ever is yours and feel free to take some of the little flags and geraniums because no one is gonna take all the stuff back to the cemetery, we already talked to them.   So I borrowed a wheel barrel from a neighbor who was collecting it and made a few trips to retrieve all my Marigolds and wood chips.

Was in the Windy Hill section of Ansonia, CT. where there is mixed 1 family, two family, and small old city style apartment buildings. Kind of a typical New England small city old neighborhood that still has neighborhood bars, volunteer fire dept.  etc.

There were Cactus in pots, some quite big, apparently when he came across a wheel barrel (there were several still left when I arrived) he'd fill it with heavy items.
