Fastest Growing Palm in My Collection

I don’t care that there are more CIDPs than people in the southwest.  Still one of my two or three favorite palms.

Here is mine in April, then again in October:

Nice! CIDP’s are nice stately palms, who cares how many there are.

It's always been one of mine too,  I don't even understand some people's obsession with super rare, exotic, limited edition, palms...., unless one is a dealer and in a business, who cares how common they are?!

I grew mine from seeds.

Try a Washy :D

I have 6!

This one put on more height and girth than comparably sized Washingtonia in my garden this year.  Washingtonia definitely put on more leaves, though.

Really putting on some size!  Now to go vertical

Date palms look their prime in the deserts, I never get tired of seeing them

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.

I was telling my wife today how I need more of these.  Would like to plant two in the same big hole and watch the trunks grow away from each other.

Is this a weight loss ad?  You are getting smaller and shorter!

I wish I could grow one of these here.  I am trying a Phoenix Sylvestris and Roebelenii currently.  I am assuming they will out grow pots at some point.  Looks good!  How much do the CIDP's grow a year?  More than a Royal Palm?

I haven't grown royals but to my knowledge they grow slower, generally.  This one is a rocket, but probably not faster than a royal palm.

I really like the look of this palm. I'm growing a majesty palm in my front yard in front of my house. It gets sun about noonish-onenish in the afternoon.  But it's shaded from sun up until the time I've stated. It seems to be doing well for being here in Casa Grande/Cooledge area of southern Arizona. More to come.

I have a bunch of potted ones here in the PNW.  They are fairly slow here.  Not enough heat.

Update...  Thing is a rocket ship.  One year and two months from the top photo.

Definitely a happy CIDP to grow that fast! Keep up the good work.
