I am looking for some added info on hand digging extra large P. reclinata 3 - 4 m plus 2 -5 heads, burlapping, crown reduction and crane removal. I have read digging down 1-2 feet and waiting some months before the final lift is ideal. Which leaves are best to prune - the central spears or the older leaves?

Kindly advise the term that describes the palms that reach their mature girth at ground level before their growth elevates, and do these palms need to be mature before you transplant? Such as P. reclinata.

Welcome to PalmTalk!  Please post more about palms in Kenya!

Would you like to start a new thread with a better title, like "help transplant large P. reclinata in Kenya"?

I am not an expert in transplanting any palms, much less large P. reclinata.  But, I think you should remove older fronds, not central spears.  I hope you get more useful responses from PalmTalkers wiser than me.
