“Chicken of the trees”….   and that’s for real too.

Chicken of the Trees  ..and worth a bit of $$ per lb.. Seen prices between $14.99 and 50 bucks. Eggs can also be eaten when prepared properly.

Funny, Meg’s “Arctic Cold Front” thread has degraded to BBQ Iguanas. LOL

But it was a big story on our news about the falling iguanas.

You have to know how much BBQ sauce and sides to pick up, in addition to the frost tarps, before the front arrives!  Also, if you put the smoker next to the ultra-tropicals and go “low and slow” all night you kill two birds with one stone.

:floor: :greenthumb: In all serious though, seems it is catching on more here in the states. If as tasty and nutritious as described in many searches regarding the experience of consuming it, and not " gamey " like some other non- conventional meats,  seems like something you might end up seeing offered more ..that a wider audience might accept.

Now, I don't condone breaking the law, but I doubt anyone's neighbors would notice the occasional discharge of a CB cap.

Just sayin'.

Agreed!!!!

Lol!.. On the fence also.. but, If it is good ( and isn't just a fried lizard sitting on the barbie ) i might be tempted to try a bite ( Cajun / Jerk seasoned Iguana Tenders? )..  Same w/ Lion Fish, which is supposedly very tasty  ..for a fish.

As for the " not so visually appealing " factor,  In Hawaii, many roast whole Pigs during Luau celebrations..  May not be my thing, but good stuff regardless..

There are other far less appealing things ( to my eyes, stomach, and uh.. nose, lol ) people really enjoy eating ..Snails,  Shellfish,  ..Sushi / RAW  Sushi,  oof!..  Fermented Cabbage / Daikon Raddish / Tapioca / Taro ...All of those  = a big NOPE / outta there in a flash from me, lol.

Sometimes people come out and ask for the big ones, when these guys are cleaning up apartment complexes and neighborhoods in South Florida.  Videos are good for palm spotting too, but usually common stuff.

You don’t need CB caps if you can shoot ok.

Similar energies and noise, but not as concealable; either way works.

I've never eaten lizard, that I know of, but I'd be tempted in a target rich environment.

The legs could be a buffalo wing substitute.

I'd like to be under the sea in an octopus' garden in the shade.

Would Iggy Pop work as a spokesmen, or would people be concerned about meat quality?
