I have one in my front yard about 10 feet off my house with some shade from banana trees on one side. I covered it with 2 sheets and a blanket as we went through about 5 hours of 29-32 degrees and it definitely took a hit. Newest frond is still very green and the spear looks great but left uncovered it would almost definitely die or be on life support. Temps in the mid 30s do not seem to bother it at all because it’s usually 70 by the afternoon. I need to develop a better System for protecting it where the coverage does not touch the palm at all. It’s slightly browner now than in these pictures. Also this was planted last February from a 7 gallon pot.
