Attalea seeds right off the tree may take years to germinate. When I was in Belize, I was looking for seeds that have been in the ground for a while. Got quick and great germination with a regular baggie method.

High temps !!! And very moist !!! I got some sprouting right now. I’ve heard they take years but if the seed is fresh shouldn’t be a problem .

I’m trying several different methods as I got plenty of seed to play with . Moist sphagnum moss seems to be the ticket for me . I’m also trying perlite and pumice and also have been successful that way. But like I said high heat . My germination box is around 90 degrees . Once they sprout drop them in a pot of soil and watch them go . Sprouted these Attalea butyracea last year
