I noticed that Denton had a  few cold days last winter . If that Washy handled Denton's cold it should be able to make it through most of my winters . The Fayetteville Washy might have seen more cold than the Denton Washy  over the last 20-30 years though ?

It's been a long time coming, I dug this washie from the lot and took a chance. Out of the two, only this one survived after getting mowed down by whoever is maintaining the lot, winter, and me digging it up, which was on Friday, October 14, 2022. I just now, today, finally planted it in its new home! 🤠

Light certainly, but heat is also going to produce results.

I got one planted today right where my failed Majesty palm was last year. That's a 4x4 planting area.

To keep a visual reference, I marked the petiole with a felt tip marker to identify any new growth. Since yesterday afternoon it has grown ⅜".

My third and final "Fayetteville" was planted today. The newest petioles don't have any thorns and very few filaments. The petiole bases also have much more green than the other two palms.
