Damn... How beautiful that place is! :w00:

Which is the name of the palm that has Washingtonia-like leaves but it actually holds fruits that resemble coconuts?

I live in Altea, Spain 38°34'N 0º03'O. USDA zone 11a. Coastal microclimate sheltered by mountains.
The coconuts shown in my avatar are from the Canary Islands, Spain ! :)

Is that a dypsis hybrid? That's gotta be the most beautiful palm I've ever seen

Seychelles is one big botanical garden . Reputed as one of the most expensive tourist destinations but hire car and airbnb accomodation are surprisingly cheap.

Lodoicea maldivica, the double coconut. A truly rare, and most magnificent palm.

Specataculatron! Those double cocolobos are bodacious! Is the heat and humidity beyond summer in So.Fla. or more tolerable?

What you look for is what is looking

Bubba! The heat and humidity feels like a windless Miami summer day. I must say it's pretty intense. Even the nights are hot! There's minimal respite at the higher altitudes.

The beautiful palm with the plumose foliage is a Dypsis madagascriensis. They have naturalized in many places throughout the island.

Thanks Kyle! Amazing shots you got there-what is that big bifurcated palm? Dictyosperma? Hope all is well with you.

The sign says Dypsis Madagascariensis on that big split trunk.  I didn't know that they would split like that, but I guess Dypsis do have "doinkers" a lot...

These images are spectacular! I definitely enjoyed ALL of them! It must have been

an extraordinary experience to see the Lodoicea Maldivica inhabitat...

Thank you so much for sharing!

Great pictures Kyle. I’ve been there twice and it’s probably my favorite place on earth. The entire island does feel like a giant botanical garden. Amazing place!

Oh my heart, be still! bumpity-bumpity-bump! The height and grace of those trunks! The bounteous Lodoicea fruits! The mists over the mountain peaks! The glorious turquoise blue waters! Note to self: begin travel plans, find a spot on the calendar!
