Is this transplant shock?

I transplanted this trachy mid April. I got it delivered from Plantvine. It came with just a little burn on the tips of the leaves and these weird white marks and spots as seen on the pictures.  When I was transplanting it I had to disturb its root ball quite a bit due to there being these fertilizer purple balls stuck between the roots. It has started spreading a new leaf recently, though its burns seem to be getting worse, especially on the oldest ones. Is it due to transplant shock?

I'm no expert, so don't take this as gospel.

But their plants are greenhouse grown and it's adapting to a lot more heat and light. I don't have any personal experience with Trachys, but a lot of my palms have the white fuzzy stuff on them. I went crazy wiping everything down with alcohol before I read up and found out it's normal and natural. Plantvine has pretty baller customer service too. They seem expensive until you factor in the free FedEx shipping. I just wish they carried more exotic palms, but that's not their demographic.

Thanks for replying. The white stuff seems to be less so fuzzy and more so dusty. My guess is its some type of salt.

I think you're good it's just adjusting to it's new environment.  Be careful watering that big pot till it grows a bit.

I've had decent luck with PlantVine too.  I think they are a cooperative of South Florida growers who got together to market their plants to a wider audience.  Their prices are sometimes really great with the shipping included.  I'm pretty sure mine were not greenhouse grown.

I'm sure it'll wipe off with a damp paper towel. It's natural. If it doesn't I'd call them.

Its dried lime that was in the irrigation water from overhead watering. Its normal, lots of growers in any plants. It will wash off in rain. But they can have a natural waxy coat on palms.
