Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

Hot, dry summers. Cold, wet winters.

Hah, true!  I dug out an Angustifolia Marginata from a spot about 2 years ago and transplanted it to a different area.  A couple of weeks ago a random agave flower stalk broke the surface, and is now about 2 feet tall.  It has no rosette or anything else above ground...just the stalk!  I'm tempted to leave it just for the curiosity...

" Agave americana  = spawn of satan,   ..that won't die ( kill mamma and the pups seek revenge ),  but likes to stab and claw at you when you try to clean it up, or remove it ( and it's children ).. "  hahaha..

One reason i don't grow most of the big species, except a few like  palmeri  or chrysantha.
