That's a good question.. Both apparently belong to the same subtribe. Guess someone would have to try and cross.

Kind of wonder if it, and C. brewsteri are an evolved version of Fistula.. ie: C. fistula once ranged into that part of AUS. then retreated at some point,  leaving any survivors to evolve into a version that could withstand more climatic stressors than C. fistula could in that particular area..   An intriguing thought..
