I got a bunch of these sabal antillensis anyone growing these in there gardens ? I know they are newly discovered has to be some smaller ones out there

How did you find them? I've been looking to get some of these when seeds become available.

Can’t say . But seed was collected in bon aire.

OK. I was afraid of that. I read that the islands they are native to placed them under protection to prevent theft/poaching of seeds of this endangered Sabal. I was hoping and praying there might be a legitimate source now.

Ok.  I was just saying that antillensis doesn’t grow on Bonaire, so maybe you got them from a cultivated palm there.  The only native palm on Bonaire is Sabal lougheediana.

Best way to protect an endangered species is to yes protect native habitat, but also to aggressively grow them, get them into cultivation. @JubaeaMan138 might be just you on PT lol

Just verified these were collected in curaçao lougheediana was collected same time from bon aire but wayyyyyy less germination on them then antillensis . If anyone is looking send me a message

Yours is likely still too small to be seeding.. ya?  Would love to get on a list if you are able to end up offering these as seeds to preserve these palms.
