If trunk is not growing well.   Pot can slow them

In cold and cooler temps the fronds will open right at the trunk but will continue growing the petiole so in the end they look normal.  I see this mostly in Jan/Feb.

Also recommend osmocote fertilizer in that pot as palm might need fert.
