I picked up these Phoenix sylvestris seeds and soaked them for about 24 hours. I removed the fruit and ended up with these notched shells. Is this normal for this species?
do these seeds look good? They all sank when placed in water.

All of the Phoenix species of seeds look similar except slightly different in size.  My Roebellini photo isn't very good, but is the smallest seed.  Here is a photo of CIDP, now I wished I had put a scale in the photo.
