I’m growing several different Dioon edule types and find they are bullet proof. I’ve never had one burn here. They have seen Temps to 17deg F.

I have Cycas revoluta x taitungensis, I’m so curious what the growth speed will be for it, I have a feeling it won’t flush until April 😭

The hybrid should be faster than a pure Cycas revoluta, but I wouldn't expect the growth speed of Cycas taitungensis. Pure taitungensis can flush about 6 times per year if conditions are right.

When is a good time to fertilize a cycad? And how much do y’all give if they are in pot and is it based on size?

I usually begin fertilizing with a water soluble fertilizer in early spring.

The smaller one has decided to put out new growth now and its 2 leaves this time and the bigger one has really displayed some impressive sized leaves to me and it looks so good, I don't know if its displaying its taitungensis genes but the leaves big and beautiful and my hand for size comparison. 🤠😍
