Areca catechu dwarf

Recommended Posts

After an extended dry period, the rains returned here in St. Augustine.

Upon return after a week vacation, I noticed a few soft spongy fungus growths from decaying crownshafts from fronds that yellowed naturally on one of my 3 Areca catechu dwarfs.

I decided to pick them off and then I read last evening a little bit more about what it could be which now has me concerned. I’m attaching pictures of the trunk after I stripped away some of the old crownshafts to completely remove the fungus. I did not see any new fungus today.

I’ve grown these in pots since they were young  and I don’t want to think the worst so….help, please?

Thanks.
