I've been wanting to get a shade cloth to help acclimate my palms to full sun and I like where I set my palms and don't want to move them under trees that aren't in the best spots for me to easily move things under them and want to create small shade cloth areas over them so they will stop burning.

What would be the best percentage and does shade cloth color matter?

I have heard the reflective metalic mesh is best.

https://www.greenhousemegastore.com/50-percent-aluminet-shade-curtain According to manufactures, This reduces the heat if that is a concern.

I'm assuming this is the metalic mesh? Is this for a greenhouse? I have my palms out in the yard but they are getting burned leaves

Called Aluminet. Use it however you need. Keep the heat out in the summer and retain some in the winter. 50% filter will keep from sunburn. over 60% is for indoor plants only

So I could stake this over my coconut or majesty and it would keep them from burning but they won't stretch their leaves?

50% is the happy medium.  You can go down to 40%, I bet the Majesties grown in greenhouses are 70% and are shoulder to shoulder to make them so upright.
