Will trade for seeds, plants.  Also will have true Sabal Brazoria. Also have habitat collected Filifera seedlings, and 4F Washingtonia FiliferaxRobusta f2 soon, I am really looking for Canary Island Palm Seeds. They are much harder to find because of need for male and female plants. I found 4 plants, but only the male had produced. I am thinking the Females are pretty damaged in central Texas. About 95% of Canaries are dead in Galveston, but I might try there.

Anyone have any leads in Texas?

Also Canary x Dactylifera shows resistance to Phoenix Palm decline!

Texas is in a real Need to repopulate. They only thing in the box stores are a few queens, foxtails, and mutt washingtonia, that just wont make it.

Here is my Skyrocket Washingtonia survivor of 4F. 30Ft in about 15 years. No other survivors nearby, so I am told they should be true to parent. Does not show fungal issues. Good for the Southeast. Also wasn’t saved by a building. Took full north wind. Seeds ready in October?

Wow , some of those palms are very special to have survived that craziness .  I have  pretty hardy small Washy palms   from a   Fayetteville  ,  NC palm , but I might want some sure winners from that cold snap in Texas .

Keep us posted on some of the palms that survived some of those incredible Lows , and what seed or seedlings are available .

Thanks ,

Will

Hey Collectorpalms: I've gotten hundreds of both W. filifera and Canary Island Date seeds from Anderson's Seed Co. in California. Prices are good and quantity is good. Google them or call and ask for Eric.

I can call and interrogate.  Still calling Arecastrum romanzoffianum all these years is a BAD sign. But Here is my two cents worth. I don't trust any unknown seed source that I don't collect. I have been burned for 20 years. Had a palm nursery for a decade. I was told so many times they were Filifera and they were just Robusta mutts. They only way you know what you get is if you collect it yourself, or really trust in another person. Both Washingtonia and Phoenix are the most hybridized palms. But just so Happens in Texas after the 2021 Freeze, they are proven TESTED for cold, BY my own eyes, the weak  and other phoenix species are basically dead.

Does anyone really believe the majority of seeds on ebay are legit? I mean the Palms and seed shape don't look anything like they are even advertised on some.

Would be very curious to try some of these as well.  I have a huge collection of sabals in both seed, and seedlings in the event you're interested in any of those.  Thanks for keeping us posted and sharing.

Hello, I did speak to Eric. Thank you. Seems like a nice guy. But here is the declaimer:

Well that's not a bad statement to make. I'd rather trust seeds from California for those two  species, Washingtonia & CIDP, than from a lot of other sources.

Look to El Paso for CIDP seeds as an option.

They look like they need another month. Wait till they are black and fall off. Some brown ones and even green one will fall off prematurely.  But I test them and were not hard enough.
