Sabal Palmetto Seeds

I collected some seeds from the only S. Palmetto that I know in my city. Should I wait until the seeds are brown or do they look immature?

This is an old photo of the palm (it is bigger nowadays)

I can't speak for Sabal palmetto but I have been able to germinate immature seeds like those from Sabal mexicana.  I say go ahead and try those now and collect more in a few weeks just in case those immature seeds don't germinate.

Good news. I put them in water and they went to the bottom. Looks like they are viable after all.

I am also starting to think they are Sabal Miamiensis because the inflorescence of the palm was green and small. While sabal palmetto inflorescences are yellow/white and bigger. Sadly I can't take pictures of it because they cut off all the flowers of the palm.
