Has anyone ever seen a clumping Royal?  I have one that is doing something very strange.  The offshoot is definitely rigid.

If it is a royal and not a Washingtonian or some other palm it is just a slow germinating seed I have one like that I will post a picture later!!!

That is a really solid hypothesis, thank you.  I suppose it doesn’t even necessarily have to be a Royal in that case.  Do I need to separate them or can I let them become a “double whatever”?

This is mine you can see it was late but it does look like a royal!! Whether you leave it or not is your call but if it was a Washingtonian I would take it out!!!

Agreed.  If it turns out to be a Washingtonia that Royal is going to have the Southwest middle seat experience!

How can it be washingtonia? The palm is pinnate washies are fanpalms
