I was lucky enough to go on a few garden tours this weekend of some unbelievable yards. This is  the first time I’ve seen a much coveted (to me) Wollemia nobilis. This was purchased from the original offering by National Geographic many years back.

Nice find, any indication of seed set? I need to do a drive-by of the big one in Parksville soon and see if there are any cones.

Zone 8b, Csb (Warm-summer Mediterranean climate). 1,940 annual sunshine hours
Annual lows-> 19/20: -5.0C, 20/21: -5.5C, 21/22: -8.3C, 22/23: -9.4C, 23/24: 1.1C (so far!)

If they are anything like monkey puzzles then those larger top cones may have seeds. Its monoecious from what I understand so there very well could be viable seeds up there.

They do grow from cuttings I do believe a true Australian icon tree conquering the world one garden at a time quite tough as well so don’t be scared of throwing them around the garden they sell for around $80 Australian dollars in a 7 inch pot you can purchase them from chain stores in Australia so becoming quite common when they first hit the market you had to sell an arm and a leg just to purchase one
