Agree. Both must be kept indoors during a NY winter. The Hyophorbe might take a quick one-time drop to 30F but requires a rebound in temps after sunrise. Adonidia is one of the most cold sensitive palms in cultivation. Both require high temps (over 80F), high humidity (>70%) and high light/sun to survive indoors. Northern houses are too cold, too dry and too dark to ensure survival, so you should plan on creating conditions of light, warmth and humidity in your house for them. Adonidia are solitary palms so be aware you have two separate plants competing in that pot. I would bring them indoors once days fall below 65F and nights below 50F. Also be aware that cold rain can be deadly to tropical palms so don’t leave/put them outdoors below 60F in rainy weather.

This palm with the blue pool strainer in the photo is Hyophorbe verschaffeltii or "spindle palm" (quantity 1):

This one below is the Adonidia merrillii or "Christmas palm" (quantity 2).  You can see that there are 2 distinct trunks indicating 2 plants as Meg mentioned.  Some palms like Chamadorea cataractarum or "cat palm" are not solitary palms but they are clumping palms so you might see something similar in a pot but it is the same plant.  The Chamadorea cataractarum is a much better choice for an indoor palm.

The Adonidias x2. They are separate solitary palms stuck into one pot.
