So what color is canary seed suppost to be ? I’ve always thought it’s normally orange . There is a beautiful tree down the street from me that when it sends the seed are purple . Is that normal ? Definetly stands out .

Not sure but I think there is some natural variation in fruit color in addition to variation due to hybridizing.  I've seen the majority of mature fruit on CIDP to be orange but I've also seen reddish-orange fruits and sometimes a purplish color when the fruit becomes overripe.  I believe @Phoenikakias has posted about CIDP with bright red fruits before.
