Another deficiency question

Welp, Dirty Sanchez has had a rough year. Pretty sure he got water or frost in his grow hole early in the year when we had our little snow and freeze. We also learned the hard way that "drought tolerant" does not mean you can skip watering me for a month. He started to recover and throw new, albeit smaller fronds that were dark green and opened normally.

Are these opening prematurely or am I a helicopter parent? What should I feed him to get the new fronds to be the lush, dark green he wants to be? I need to get him healthy just in time for the winter winds to beat him up again

Another new frond coming in behind this. Maybe he just wants to be 2 toned, maybe he thinks he can be in a Sprite commercial.
