Does anyone know anything about this avocado species? I have one tree since 2019, it's not common because it's vulnerable and endangered.

This relative of the avocado is called chinin in Tabasco and Yucatan. In Tabasco and Yucatan they heat up some tortillas and cut chinin to eat them in tacos. Instead of the avocado we are use to its longer and white on the inside, when i went on vacation to the Yucatan peninsula I wanted to try it but i guess it was out of season. How were you able to get ahold of it, i cant find it anywhere. Its a very cool find!

I "stole" it from a local park in 2019 when I was obsessed with Pseudobombax ellipticum trees, I thought it was a self sown pseudobombax seedling when I picked it up but it ended up being this tree species. However it's the most common Persea sp. here in Monterrey as an ornamental tree. I still have this plant to this day. I don't know which nursery sells them though. Very fast for me.

My tree never set seed nor flowered because it's in a pot still, I'm planning to plant it next spring. A tree in the street where I live set fruit every year but I think it died last year because the owners didn't water it.

Im suprised as its natural habitat is a very humid and wet place, interesting fact the yucatan peninsula has no natural rivers

I just took this photo of it, it's raining and it's dark so the quality isn't very good. The one in the left is a hass avocado I germinated in 2019.
