Hi Y’all! Still very new to palms and love them. I have 3 mule palms that aren’t looking good after our freeze here in texas. I wrapped them from the trunk to the heart as far as i could go up my ladder. The outer fronds are looking really bad. Please let me know if they are ok.

To me, your three big mule palms look like they will survive easily.  But, you will have some damaged fronds until new ones grow in to replace them.

I agree, your mules will be fine - it looks like you did a great job wrapping them.  I have had mule palms since 2013 and mine never showed any cold damage above 20°F.  I even had one survive unprotected in February 2021 at 9°F.  What was your low temp?  I don't know what part of Texas you are in@Nicole Milner

Hi, we're neighbors! The mules will be fine. Just some cosmetic damage, you didn't need to wrap them. No need to wrap those Mediterranean fan palms either

Hi! I don’t know how to respond individually.

@Fusca I believe we got to 18 degrees. I’m in Katy TX.

@Xenon where are you located? I really wish I had someone that could teach me more about the care of my mules. I think I jumped in the deep end without the proper knowledge.

I'm on Fry Rd near I-10. The mules don't need any extra care (certainly not "deep end") and will grow like weeds when it warms up again. Nothing to worry about
