Just had a silver bismark transplanted. It's a big tree. The installer said keep the soil moist and water for 30 days straight. What exactly does moist really mean? How much water should a tree this size get every day? Any advice - in detail? Thanks

It depends on your soil was it box grown or field grown or was it just moved from one spot in your yard to another. I understand that Bismarckia are very root sensitive!!

True.

This depends on answers to the above questions.

One would think that those who did the transplanting would know local soils regarding drainage and water retention. Therefore I would follow that.

I would also remove 75% or more of the leaves to reduce transpiration.

Did you see any exposed roots during the process?

Them are the most pruned Bifurcata I’ve seen in awhile. Jeez….

Good luck with your Bismarckia. It’s one of my favorites.
