The trunk of my elephant ear keeps growing. If I cut the top of and replant it what do I do with the remaining truck. I don’t want to kill it.

I'm not sure you can cut the top off and replant?  These usually get pups you can separate at the bottom.

This one actually started from a top. Another plant I had became top heavy and fell over so I cut the top and planted it. I thought it would die but it flourished and created an additional 5 plants next to it.

Any type of elephant ear is extremely hard to kill off. These things regenerate from just small bits of leftover roots, i know from experience. Shoulda never planted them damn things in the backyard lol
