Palm planting soil watering

I just planted my washie a couple days ago but I'm unsure about how to make sure water is going directly where I need it, what's the proper way to plant a palm tree and if it's on a small hill how do I ensure the water is going directly to the root zone?

Best way to water is by laying the garden hose next to the tree on a trickle. Not sure on the physics behind it but the water goes deeper than when you hold the hose and use a garden wand or whatever. For a palm of that size I’d lay it there for about 10 minutes once every 4 days when hi temps are above 75. Increase as needed with high heat and humidity.

Should I be digging a small trench for the water to pour into?

Thanks! next time I'm outside I'll go ahead and create a little ravine around it because as of now it kinda just runs away 🤠

No problem 🤙I've used that method for a number of my palms and it will save you a lot of headaches
