Tampa General Hospital Palms

This is a “ Palm Garden” at Tampa General Hospital  ( TGH) in Tampa on Davis Island. Our oldest son arrived at Tampa General via the TGH trauma chopper from a Palm Beach area hospital in August of 2021 with critical Covid. My wife, our youngest son and the undersigned relocated to be with our son as close as possible to the hospital while his wife primarily remained in the PB area with their two children ( our grandchildren).

We have returned to TGH for the completion of some necessary additional surgery to allow for the reversal of his colostomy. TGH is a world class teaching hospital affiliated with the University of South Florida medical school. This is hopefully the last leg in our journey so that he can lead a normal life. We have been blessed by this incredible hospital, which also has palms:E774718B-C642-4799-96D3-5671EBF830F4.thumb.jpeg.249bb2e1321a8b5ffd1999d5ece2acbb.jpeg

Dear Bubba,

First and foremost, I want to extend my very best wishes to your son and entire family. At this point, I am extremely hopeful, that the rough stuff is in the distant rearview mirror.

Thank you so much as well for the lovely photos. I wonder if IPS past President (1974-1976) U. A. Young, who practiced orthopedic surgery at this hospital, had anything to do with the planting of these palms?

Again, I hope that your son has a complete and further uneventful recovery.

Thank you to all. Palms are a great personal interest and Dr. Young has been mentioned many times as a Tampa Pioneer.

A family experience of this nature puts many things of true value in perspective. We have been blessed and graced by TGH. It is an absolute top of the world hospital and all that work there emanate a Godly healing vibration. Simply stated, it has taken a very difficult situation and turned it into a very positive experience.
