Hi everyone,

I need help identifying this Sabal a buddy of mine has. The palm was there when he bought the house and seems to be growing relatively quickly. I assumed it was just another Sabal Palmetto when I saw it but it has enormous seeds. The fruit last fall was about the size of a large olive and vivid green. I wish I would have snapped a pic then! When I went back this week the only thing I could find was dried up, but it should give a reference to the size. The palm survived 20 degrees with no damage last December. Thanks for the help everyone.

Never seen before that oblong shape in Sabal fruit! Is it possible, that you post also a picture of the seeds inside the fruits?

Yes, I will be down there in a week and post a few. The oblong shape and size are nothing close to the multitude of other Sabal species we have in the area.
