Scale on Sabal Palmetto?

Thought my sabal palmetto was doing okay until I finally looked more closely at it today. Is that a major scale infestation going on? If so, any recommendations on what I should do to address it?

It’s got almost 7 feet of trunk, located in San Antonio, TX. I generally water it well about twice weekly during the heat of the summer, though it has gotten ignored quite often late fall through spring. Wonder if I need some adjustment there as well..

I would give it a good drenching of a systemic insecticide like zylam

Would something more available on a retail level be suitable? Hard to find smaller, more affordable quantities of Zylam.

Scale doesn’t really affect a sabal much but you could use horticultural oil if you have a pump sprayer. Malathion would probably work and it’s relatively cheap and available.
