Butia ID?

Hello everyone, 

I was at the park earlier today walking the pooch and this Butia caught my eye. I’m assuming it’s probably Butia ordata but the leaflets seemed much more narrow, thin, and very relaxed compared to most of the other Butia in the area. There were piles of seeds and seedlings popping up through the pine stray. Just curious. Thanks

Looks like B odorata. All of the characteristics you’ve mentioned are common when they are grown in some shade.

Thank you, that makes sense. It was definitely partially shaded. It seems like there is a ton of variation between them naturally as well.
