Old man Palm revisited. Gaining in width but height challenged (pics)

Here are the pics showing the upper growth it just doesn’t gain height fast enough.

I don't have an Old Man's Palm myself, but I do have a couple of other Coccothrinax.  The coloration of the new frond is odd, like it's dark green in the center and white along the outer edges.  That doesn't seem normal, maybe it's a sign of an iron deficiency?  That could be from soil that's too rich or constantly wet.  Or....that could be normal for a C. Crinita?
