Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

These are pretty amazing creatures found all up and down the Qld, NSW coast.  The huntsman spider gets huge, I've had one on the ceiling over the bed that would cover a dinner plate with its legs fortunately my wife didn't notice it and I managed to catch it and put it out in the garden. We get them all the time in the house just not big like that one very often. They are great at keeping the cockroaches in check. Also, when the huntsman is very large, they don't seem to be scared easy and will stand their ground. They are harmless. and easy to catch when large.

Yeah, I gotta tell myself with all these little guys that they are just looking for a bite to eat like anyone/ thing else. My brother, on the other hand, believes that the only good spider is a dead spider; and he lives in an area of California where they get tarantulas as big as his Budweiser can. That's good they keep the roaches, etc. down. We are having a very buggy year because of all the extra moisture we got/ keep getting. Roaches under everything! Maybe I could use one or two of those in my yard... not!

Now if you're stealing my bacon on the other hand... we got serious problems.
