Got my second Royal in ground today. My last yard was rocky granite filled soil but at 2100 feet at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains its next level. Had to roll a 200lb boulder out of the ground as part of the fun. This is my preferred size as it just exposed its very first ring similar to the success I had in my previous garden with similar sized Roystonea.

Thanks Dale! My last yard my Royals had been in ground 4 years. Both palms in my new yard will get full all day sun. Look forward to seeing these turn into fatties!
