Thanks to @Paradise Found, I'm the proud new owner of a large Dicksonia antarctica. For background, I'm in Seattle WA, so I do plan on protecting the crown when winter temperatures fall too low.

The tree fern was dug up, maintaining some roots around the trunk, in early April before a flush of new fronds began to push. The trunk stands about 7 feet tall and the new fronds are about 7 feet long. Enjoy the pics!

Very cool. I’ve tried a few small sized specimen in Texas but they appear to be indoor only. It gets too hot and dry at times.

They really do seem to need a lot of humidity and moisture. You might have better luck with another tree fern species though. Have you tried any Cyathea?
