IPS admin issue... No contact and no member privileges?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I joined the IPS back in March, and I haven't heard anything back since the initial "thank you for joining" email.

I can log in on palms.org, but no IPS member privileges here.

No Palms journal either.

Of course, I have attempted to contact admin through palms.org, but I haven't heard anything back.

Are others having this issue? Uncertain where to go from here...

🤷‍♂️

This is a separate site and you need to register here separately. After doing so, inform the Moderator (Palm Mod) with your UserName that you are an IPS Member in order to receive the extra privileges that an IPS Member gets here - like listing palms for sale.

Try contacting palms.org again if you still haven't heard back regarding any other issues like not receiving the palm journal.

Definitely do contact the IPS but not having received any issues of Palms yet not surprising.  As you probably already know, it is published only four times a year and the most recent issue I have is the March 2023 issue. I am guessing that you signed up too late to get on the mailing list for that one and the June 2023 issue has not been sent out yet. At least I have not received it yet. Good luck! :)

Thank you. 🤙

Yes, I contacted admin at palms.org and it turns out I joined a couple weeks too late to get the March issue, so my concern was sorted out in that regard.

When I joined the IPS, the sign up form asked for my Palm Talk username so I wrongly assumed palms.org would coordinate with admin here.

Since then, I opened a support request here and also PM'd @PALM MOD about getting my IPS designation on this site, but I haven't heard back in either instance.

Hate to be a pest, but I still feel like I'm missing something. Not sure what.

For some reason, just seeing this now. I have designated you as an IPS Member with the included privileges.

I am experiencing a similar issue. I see that my membership current until 2025. When logged into the IPS main site and attempting to view Palms, the Journal of the IPS, from the drop down menu at the top of the page I am taken to a page that asks me to login to view the journals. Vlicking that link takes me to a page that diplays only a deadlink reading LOGIN and another link to log out.3.thumb.jpg.4d5021dfce7b4cd9bb1d4b28bda7962a.jpg

Hi Miles and Rivera!

I reached out to our membership administrator on your behalf.

Neither Dean nor I are able to access IPS membership information.

She answered me promptly and suggests that both of you contact her through the following email

info@plams.org

so she can get all the information directly from you to fix your issues.

Please post here or private message me when your problems are solved.

I happen to know that she is very busy at the moment dealing with a big rush on sign ups for our New Cal Biennial, but if you do not hear back from her in a few days, please private message me (including the name and email you used to register at palms.org) and I will absolutely contact her again.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

How long does it generally take to be granted IPS member status on here? I am a member and submitted a support request to be granted the status over two weeks ago. Should I continue to wait or did I maybe go the wrong route?

Thanks Cindy, very kind of you. I'm no longer having any problems. The issues I had previously largely stemmed from my own misunderstanding about how to verify my IPS member status on Palm Talk (and gain associated privileges here).

Palms.org is working fine for me, and I am able to access my membership info there.

No waiting needed.

I just contacted Palm Mod on the PT private message system so soon he will respond and update your status here.

Thank you so much for becoming an IPS member!
