Recent Palm Plantings on Garden Lot, Cape Coral, FL: lots of photos and kudos

We embarked on a years-long quest to restore our gardens to something resembling their former glory. I managed to convince my husband not to automatically replace all the many dicot trees that hurricanes love to rip apart and topple. Many of the palms losses we suffered were the result of large trees like mahoe, Ficus, snakewood, silk floss, Eucalyptus, Delonix, screw pine and more shattering, falling and taking our large palms with them. Yeah, the Delonix or the half that survived is still here, as well as the black olive, a silk floss and the bridal veil still remain but I was able to talk my way into replacing many of those with palms. I learned, too, that some of the palms I had cannot take cat 4+ hurricane winds for 10-12 hours. Those include Bismarckia, Beccariophoenix alfredii, Attaleas except for maybe phalerata, Elaeis guineensis (although the whole leaf one survived), Caryota mitis and Chrysalidocarpus pembanus. Those species are non grata here now. I am springing for fast-growing palms like coconuts and storm-resistant Sabals. I am also looking into the Hawaiian Pritchardias, which are cold hardier than the wretched pacifica and expanding our plantings of Livistonas, Kentiopsis, Chambeyronia, Satakentia, Dictyosperma and Ptychosperma.

Anyway, we finished planting a whole slew of young palms that I have raised from seed or obtained from the many great members of this forum. Here are photos of them and attributions. If I miss your contribution I apologize for my lax memory. Here they are in pretty much alphabetical order

Bonus photos:

Hurricane damage to Dypsis/Chrysalidocarpus. Flying debris gouged out a chunk of stem from this Dypsis. Wound is 1" deep. Surviving palms all around the yard bear war wounds

Meg, it looks like a great start, and just in time for the rainy season!  Best wishes for strong growth!

Formerly in Gilbert AZ, zone 9a/9b. Now in Palmetto, Florida Zone 9b/10a??

Thanks, Tom. I'm really looking forward to rainy season, if not hurricane season.
