The ~five of them at Leu Gardens did fine over the past winters, but if I recall the local temps there only dipped down to maybe 28-30F or so.  I haven't heard of too many freeze damage reports, and KinzyJr's sheet only shows 5 reports so far.  Oliver reported 24F in Brownsville TX and had >80% damage but 4 of them survived in 10g pots, and only minor damage in 4 other reports at 28-29F.  So best guess at this point is maybe a solid 10 but marginal in 9b?

We actually have 7 specimens planted out at Leu Gardens!

They have tolerated down to about 28-29 with minor to moderate burn, hardiness seems similar to Corypha utan.

I believe the Palmtalk member Oliver has one in Brownsville, Texas.  It saw atleast low 20’s in 2021.

There are several Tahina in far south Texas (in private gardens) that survived 23-24F in 2021 and are seemingly thriving in the hot climate

My Tahina is totally winter hardy in coastal SWFL. But it was crushed under fallen Bizzies and Livistonas during Hurricane Ian's visit nine months ago. I feared it was a goner but its still-underground growing point survived. Now the heat is on it has put out two large leaves.

I have to search my yearly photos but off the top of my head I’d say 7 or 8. It’s been a very slow grower for me but has had to compete for sun with Bizzies and Livistonas. Not a problem now after Ian.

Is there a source of seedlings or seeds for people who would like to trial these?
