At last a Sabal in my garden, which had been obtained as seedling under the name rosei, has bloomed. I am not entirely sure, but I think that inflorescence has almost reached final size, and it is conspicuously shorter than length of leaf petioles. According to D Hodel's description Sabal pumos has flowerstalks that short. In an interesting coincidence I had been suggested already two years ago that dimensions if my young plant speak for pumos or mexicana. So all of you, who are familiar with the genus, can you identify my specimen correctly?
