I recently came across this article on the former Fossil Cycad National Monument. It’s definitely a strong case for the National Park motto “Take only memories(now pictures), leave only footprints”

Sadly it reminds me of the posters in the old western movies:  "Wanted Dead or Alive".  Hopefully encouraging seed and seedling distribution from non-habitat collections will reduce the pressure on the native habitat specimens remaining of our living Cycads.
